Hut Building & Caring for Others
The Housing Project is vital to the community and provides safe & secure housing to the most vulnerable populations of Mwandi .
The houses are traditional mud huts common throughout Africa with metal sheet roofing. The walls are thick and provide excellent insulation, which stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter and last approximately 15 years.
Volunteer labor is involved building the houses and for those interested in staying with us and experiencing this amazing opportunity, we offer en-suite chalets located within a secure enclosed area. Please see Travel & Volunteer section for more information.
Community School & Sponsorship
We are proud to support the Compass Zambia Community School. Officially opened in January 2019. The School accepts children from pre-school through 4th grade.
Volunteers who stay with us are welcome to help at the school in whatever capacity they feel comfortable, from playing to teaching.
For those who cannot commit to travel right now, we offer an alternative thru Sponsorship. With the help of international donors we have sponsored students in Colleges throughout Zambia. Sponsoring a student not only enables them to advance to a better quality of life but helps contribute to their family’s welfare. If interested, please go to the Donations & Sponsorship section.
Travel & Volunteer
We offer a unique opportunity in which we combine an exciting & fun travel package that combines the rewards of volunteering along with the excitement of adventure & sight seeing to some of the most amazing places in the world.
Volunteers are housed securely in en-suite chalets (small independent buildings with attached bathrooms) within our large walled-in camp ground. The camp is situated, within a 5 minute walk from the Village center and the picturesque Zambezi River.

We custom-tailor your experience to what you want. This is why we do not have a set list price. It really is up to how long you want to stay, and if you want to include adventure options. Contact us and we will go through all the options with you to decide on pricing that works for you. The price you pay typically includes your own en-suite chalets (independent cottages with bathroom included), two meals a day, non-alcoholic drinks, and transportation to and from the airport.
We can accommodate for most allergies, but due to the area we may have trouble with some of the more select eating restrictions. Contact us and we can discuss your specific dietary needs.
